"EMPOWERED, SELF-PROPELLING COMMUNITIES, PEACEFULLY LIVING IN A SUSTAINABLE ENVIRONMENT"

PROGRAMS

Water and sanitation - we assist in establishing small gravity-fed water system projects in the barrios.  We also support the establishment of communal ecosan toilets to improve food security, conserve water, prevent the spread of communicable diseases and prevent pollution of waterways.

Agro-forestry - we support crop-tree-animal initiatives and contour farming in order to prevent soil from eroding and improve farmers' incomes.

Nutrition - we support 'food always in the home' or FAITH as a means of improving rural nutrition and incomes.

Development - we organize local communities into functional clusters and primary cooperatives and train barefoot technicians.

WHY DO YOU CRY, MIRROR AT NARITA

Is it that you cannot bear to hear the heartbeats of Elena so young, so pretty, so dear waiting for the yakuza, that you cry?

Or is it that you cannot bear to see ravaged Mom combing her lifeless hair waiting for the ride home, that you cry?

I cannot understand, for what is there in crying when home is a terrifying dream, when home is want so mind-boggling,

when home is an endless scream?

Support the WAND Ecosanitation Initiative                                               for 22,000 pesos (USD 511), WAND will be able to construct an ecosan toilet and start a vegetable gardening program in a barrio.  This will close the loop between agricultural production and consumption, prevent the spread of communicable disease and improve sanitation and food security.
